The legend of Mayahuel and how she transformed herself into the Agave plant is one of the myths most central to the Tequila & Mezcal worlds. We have re-imagined this story to understand how agave came to India’s Deccan Plateau.
ONCE UPON A TIME, THEGODDESS MAYAHUEL TRANSFORMEDINTOAN AGAVE PLANT TO HIDE FROM HEREVILGRANDMOTHER. THOUGH SHE WAS DISCOVEREDANDCUT TOPIECES, HERLOVER, THE WINDGOD, SCATTERED THE LEAVES FROM HERBODYACROSS THE WORLD’SRICHEST SOILS.

Agave Americana grows wild in India’s Deccan Plateau where the red-black volcanic soils serve as the perfect semi-arid micro-climate for the plant, similar to that of Central America.
The Agave harvested and used for this product flourishes in the wild, and is nourished by natural resources. It must grow for 8-10 years before it is harvested so that the Piña (heart of the Agave) is mature enough to be fermented for the making of the spirit.
